A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater is a completely enclosed, collapsed volcano, 2000 feet deep with a floor of over 100 square miles. It is the home to some 25,000 large animals and reportedly the largest concentration of predators in Africa.  Resting on the south rim, the Serena Lodge will be our residence while in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.  The lodge, spectacular in its setting, is just as spectacular in its service and decor.
